Whitening – Tray Method and Zoom!

There are broadly two different whitening treatments available: Zoom! and the Tray Method. The Trays are an in-home method, while Zoom! is done at the Center and gives patients immediate results.

Zoom!

Zoom! Is a bleaching process that lightens discoloration of enamel, making teeth whiter, and therefore more attractive. We use several techniques for whitening teeth: Zoom!, Passive Whitening Tray, and Professional Strength White Strips.

Zoom is a revolutionary tooth whitening procedure. It is safe, effective and fast – very fast. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. The Zoom Whitening procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums. Whitening gel is applied to your teeth and the Zoom light focused on them. The light and gel work together to whiten teeth discoloration. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A fluoride treatment completes the procedure.

You’ll be amazed with the results! In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the procedure. Trays with gel are recommended afterward for maximum whitening and maintenance.

Tray Method

The tray method involves taking impressions of the teeth, which is used to design and fabricate custom vinyl trays in the lab. Whitening gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about three hours, or overnight. Based on the dentist’s assessment, a gel of the right strength is used. The entire process requires 3-4 weeks of daily use.
